Great, so you've booked a Free Introductory Consultation (FIC) - what next? The FIC is a great opportunity for both sides to ask questions and build up a relationship for hypnotherapy. As the therapist, we are looking at how motivated the client is as well as is hypnotherapy going to help resolve their problem - if not we will usually refer them onto other types of support. For the client, it is a great opportunity to discover more by asking questions without the obligation to book an appointment and to see if you can build a working relationship with the hypnotherapist to resolve your problem.

The duration of the FIC is 20-30 minutes.

1. The Consent Form

After confirming you appointment via our online booking system you'll be asked to fill out a consent form. The questions will be specifically relating to the symptoms you are experiencing as well as previous medical information. It is important that you fill out the consent form with the most accurate information so that a treatment plan can better be tailored to your needs. All information is private and confidential - to find out what we do with your information and how you can request your information please read our Privacy Policy.

Prior to your appointment, you'll be sent a Zoom link. The Zoom link is end-to-end encrypted and cannot be accessed by Zoom or anyone else to respect your privacy and confidentiality. During the appointment, Steven will be discussing the answers to your consent form in more detail and may ask further questions if necessary to help build your specific treatment plan for your needs.

The consent form will then be sent to you during the meeting via email to electronically sign - which will then be saved as a PDF and sent back to your email for your records.

Why Do You Need To Create A Specific Treatment Plan?

You may think that if you want to lose weight then the treatment plan would be the same for everyone however this is not always the case. You see, the symptom of the problem may be the same for everyone - as in this example: everyone is overweight - but the cause of the problem could be very different depending on the individual. Hypnotherapy looks to discover the cause of the symptom and therefore a tailored treatment plan is necessary.

2. A Chance To Ask Questions

The free consultation gives you the opportunity to ask as many questions as you'd like and it is our job to put your mind at rest and let you know how we will ensure that you have the most effective sessions and outcome possible. You'll also learn exactly what hypnosis is and how hypnotherapy can help resolve your problem.

3. Recording Consent

All sessions are recorded either as MP3 or MP4 - this is so that the Self-Hypnosis MP3 can be given to you after your first session and also so that progress and notes can be recorded. To find out more regarding why sessions are recorded please check out this article.

4. The Hypnotherapy Agreement & Code Of Ethics

Now we come to the exact agreement regarding the basis of your hypnotherapy sessions. This will cover how many sessions would be necessary as well as the cost of treatment. You'll also get a chance to read the booking Terms & Conditions (click here to view). You will then be sent this document via email to sign along with our Code Of Ethics as set out by the Professional Hypnotherapy Practitioners Association (PHPA).

5. Book Your First Session

Now that all the formalities have been handled it's time to book your first session of hypnotherapy. Most of our appointments fall on a Tuesday between 9am and 9pm and we recommend for the most effective treatment a week between sessions (or 2 weeks as a maximum).

How Does Payment Work?

When you place your booking through for the FIC you'll notice you were asked for your card details to confirm your appointment. These card details are saved on the system and will be charged at the end of your session along with an invoice. To find out why your card details need to be saved on our system please view this article.
