When attending the Free Introductory Consultation you'll be asked to sign a consent form to allow the recording of your sessions but you may be wondering why we would need to record your sessions and what is going to happen to those recordings. Don't worry this article will explain and reassure you when it comes to the recording of sessions.

During the first session you'll be given an MP3 of your session, this is so that you can listen to it at home throughout the week before your next session to help reinforce the suggestions given in the session.

The filming of sessions is for the therapist (although the client can request a copy to - view privacy policy) so that they can write up the session notes in a more accurate way and confirm the notes they have already taken. This means that the therapist is able to take a second look and from here decide the next course of action with regards to subsequent sessions.

For the client it can be interesting to watch the experience you just had. Some clients want to see how they were responding through hypnosis and request to have access to the folder with their session recordings.

At Brown's Hypnotherapy, Steven has a clear DBS and Insurance to protect against claims made against him - having everything recorded protects both individuals. All session recordings are placed in a secure file which the client can request access to by simply emailing: support@browns-hypnotherapy.freshdesk.com

If a client is not happy to be recorded then they can of course make the therapist aware. The therapist might suggest that it is ok to not have video recording but that MP3 recording would be required - if this is still not ok for the client it is down to you and the therapist whether you continue with your sessions. All recordings and notes on the client are deleted within 4 weeks of completing their treatment.
